LANE ETIQUETTE (Masters)
Coached swimming is in a squad not an individual swim set, so please swim as
a group (if you arrive late this means slotting in to where the group is at,
not starting from the beginning);
Swim in a lane appropriate to your speed and ability;
Seed
yourself in a lane with a view to avoiding lane congestion, particularly during
busy sessions;
Be open to and accept the coach asking you to move to a particular lane or within your lane
Swim in the first 3 lanes only – the remainder of the pool is dedicated to navy swimmers

Key points:
Arrive
for training at least 10 minutes before the session start time - entry into the
Naval Base will be refused if the coach has already escorted squad members in.
Wait
responsibly at the monument for an escort onto the navy base.
Obey instructions from Naval Security Staff
Bring
ID card and appropriate
gear (goggles, swimwear, fins)
Dress
appropriately (not in towels, covered shoes, or footwear with backstrap). Please
note
that
the
Navy security may refuse entry if appropriate clothes aren’t worn.
SQUAD PLACES CANNOT BE HELD
If a swimmer stands down from coached sessions for a term their place is not ‘held’ for a subsequent term but they may go on the wait list for the appropriate squad. Being a buddy swimmer does not hold swimmer’s place for coached sessions.
UNPAID FEES - CARDS TO BE RETURNED
If members cease paying club fees in any term they are required to return their card to Cathy Denne. Any member who has unpaid fees and uses their card to enter the pool, risks having their membership revoked and the navy being advised accordingly. |
